About Annemie

I began my artistic journey at the Jan Portaels Academy in Vilvoorde, quickly discovering the vastness of 'Drawing Art.' 

After experimenting with various media, inspired by diverse artists, 'bister' became my favorite medium. This natural product has been used for centuries by the most renowed painters and allows me to create a dark but warm atmosphere. 

Where I initially focused mainly on portraits, I also find immense inspiration in nature in its broadest sense. 

My ongoing exploration of adding more color and variation to backgrounds remains a captivating pursuit.
